THE ART OF BOTANICAL PERFUMERY
Workshop I: April 26th - 27th 2025
Leanne Hirsh, botanical perfumer and founder of Perfumera Curandera, will guide you in the art of natural perfumery with precious rare aromatics.
Together, we will cover the basics of botanical perfume making.

At the end of the weekend you will have a beginning sense of the artistry behind scent creation, and a 15ml bottle of a scent of your own making.
This 2 day weekend beginner workshop will go from 10:30am till 5:30pm each day with an hour lunch break.
We will enjoy teas and snacks together here, but we recommend packing a light lunch for the day.
Please bring a journal and a pen.
ALL perfumery materials will be included.
Each participant will go home with a 15ml bottle of their unique perfume blend in a base of organic alcohol.

Rough schedule:
10:30 am - 5:30 pm
We will go over a brief history and significance of natural perfumery
We will explore precious aromatic materials ~ such as house-made tinctures, essential oils, absolutes, concretes, and resins.
We will select three materials to work with from each fragrance family.
With a brief guided meditation, we will connect with our chosen aromas and set intentions for the scent we wish to create.
10:30 am - 5:30 pm
We will test and reflect on our choices from the day before and fine-tune as desired.
We will blend our ingredients and create our perfume.
This workshop stands on its own, allowing you to leave with a beautifully crafted perfume—but it also serves as the foundation for a deeper exploration of natural fragrance-making as it is a complex art. For those inspired to continue refining their skills, future workshops will offer opportunities to build upon your initial creation, exploring advanced techniques and more intricate scent structures.
