Workshop I
Leanne Hirsh, botanical perfumer and founder of Perfumera Curandera, will guide you in the art of natural perfumery with sacred and rare aromatics.
Learning natural perfumery with Leanne is stepping into the studio of an artist. Her guidance is organic, intuitive, and aesthetically-centered; it is this nature of instruction that makes her workshops special.
Together, we will cover the basics of botanicals:

History of Botanical Perfumery
Tools & Raw Materials
Fragrance Families
Olfactory Awareness
Artistry
Orchestration
You will leave the workshop with a better sense of scent artistry and with a scent of your making.
11:00 am - 5:30 pm
We will explore precious aromatic materials ~ such as house-made tinctures, essential oils, absolutes, concretes, and resins.
We will select three materials to work with from each fragrance family.
With a brief guided meditation and journaling session, we will connect with our chosen aromas and set intentions for the scent we wish to create.
We will make an accord from the first fragrance family as the base of our perfume.
11:00 am - 5:30 pm
We will test and reflect on our accord from the day before and fine-tune as desired.
We will make our second and third accords from the next fragrance families.
We will blend our accords, producing our perfume.
We will share in community with complimentary herbal teas and refreshments.
Please be mindful to come unscented for the totality of the workshop.
We will provide teas and light refreshments, but please bring a light lunch, water bottle, and journal.
Cancellation Policy: As we are a small business, cancellations heavily affect our revenue. If you are unable to attend a workshop, we offer workshop credit or credit toward Perfumera products.
