When I moved to California last year after 27 years on the East Coast, I was in cultural, spiritual and emotional shock, my whole life in transition after an intense year, in January, having had to have ovarian surgery (thankful it was all good but took a while to get back to regular activities.) then a few short months after,  having to move house after 12 years in Woodstock,  decided it was time for a huge change. My husband following his soul yearning to move back to his native Peru, after being away from there for over 35 years, I planned to stay here for the time being to focus on my Perfume business  while seeing our son through his college years and our daughter through high school.

This year has been one of upheaval and transition, a momentous across country move landed me here in sunny California.

The lovely Las Flores Canyon park right across the road, became a welcome refuge to walk my beloved Arrow every day, a sacred place of respite with it's graceful Sycamore trees, and Sage,Artemesia and Sea scented air. 

Connecting with nature daily is an integral part of life for me and a continual inspiration for my perfumes and grounding for the spirit.

Soon after moving, while out walking I saw a familiar face,  someone I had worked with several times as a make up artist over 20 years ago, the lovely model Kristine Szabo.

We literally bumped into each other in the park!

We stopped to talk, Kristine remembered me and my skincare line that I had launched back in the late 90's - Hirsh Skincare.

We quickly discovered we were nearby neighbours and have since become close friends.

It is always a joy to spend time, walking with her and her 4 dogs, and my Arrow,  while her adorable 4 year old son Matthew rides sound on his bike. 

We have both been through big transition this year, I feel very blessed to have a likeminded soul sister nearby.

I love doing Kristine's make up. She is  a timeless beauty with perfect classic bone structure glowing skin and a radiant smile.

As she is such an in demand model she travels all over the world for work, but when our schedules align we get together for dog walks and hikes and love to co create and collaborate on ideas for Beauty shoots.
